Citizens Options Unlimited Receives Compass Designation
Citizens Options Unlimited is proud to announce the renewal of our Compass designation, a distinction of excellence held by only four agencies in New York State including our affiliate agency AHRC Nassau.
Compass, an initiative of New York State’s Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, recognizes and promotes provider agencies that have progressed beyond minimal regulatory compliance and have achieved excellence in service delivery.
From May 7–9, Citizens Options Unlimited hosted OPWDD auditors for Compass Validation Week. This collaborative process included site visits and discussions with people supported, families, staff, and volunteers, providing a comprehensive view of how we work together to achieve person-centered outcomes.
Highlights included the Personal Outcome Measures (POMs) Rally, the Day of Community Engagement Volunteer Fair, and the Virtual Connections Fifth Anniversary Concert.
After meaningful interactions with people supported, families, and staff, OPWDD officials once again designated Citizens Options Unlimited and AHRC Nassau as Compass agencies, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to self-direction and inclusive opportunities.
