Employee Spotlight: Tamara Morales
It’s been approximately seven months since Tamara Morales, a resident of Citizens’ Bayshore home, started working as an office clerk in the Learning & Professional Development Department of AHRC Nassau in Plainview.
“I do paperwork,” Tamara explained. “I do Relias trainings. Sometimes I work with the nurses, if they have any work or anything that needs to be done. I just help them.”
Tamara said she enjoys working in the office, and all the opportunities the position offers to learn.
Over her time here, Tamara built rapport with her fellow coworkers in the building.
“It’s a different scenery,” Tamara said. “It’s something different.”
Suprena N. Joseph, Learning & Professional Development Administrator, explained that Tamara started out as a volunteer in the office.
“She showed us what she can do, and she’s pretty independent once you show her how to do the task,” Suprena said. “We saw those skills and we brought her on as a staff member.”
Besides all her responsibilities and tasks Tamara is invited to all staff meetings. If a meeting is scheduled on her day off, she is informed in advance so she can attend.
“It’s great working with Tamara,” Suprena said. “She’s been a tremendous asset to the team.”
