LIWLSC’s Support Fuels Learning and Possibilities
The Long Island Wine & Liquor Sales Club (LIWLSC) continues to make a powerful difference across AHRC Nassau’s family of organizations—including Citizens Options Unlimited. Their fundraising efforts benefit both children and adults with developmental disabilities, helping to expand community access, build skills, and enhance quality of life.
During a recent visit to AHRC Nassau’s campus, LIWLSC members saw firsthand how their support fuels a variety of programs—including those that directly benefit adults supported by Citizens. These include more than 1,000 community-based experiences such as trips to museums, restaurants, and sporting events, all designed to promote confidence, connection, and meaningful engagement.
The Club also supports a new 10-week Saturday enrichment program at Wheatley Farms & Arts Center, where children take part in hands-on activities at the greenhouse, arts center, and barnyard—building routines, social interaction, and enjoyment.
“We are so grateful to the Long Island Wine & Liquor Sales Club for their nearly eight decades of support for children and adults with developmental disabilities,” said Mary McNamara, AHRC Foundation Director. “Because of their generosity, the AHRC Foundation is able to fund programs and opportunities that make a real difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities—at home, in the community, and beyond.”
