Meet Cynthia Saint Jean, a Direct Support Professional at the Rugby Road House
Cynthia Saint Jean is a Direct Support Professional (DSP) supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) at the Rugby Road residence in Westbury.
Cynthia previously worked as a DSP providing Day Habilitation services at the Helen Kaplan Center before transferring to the Rugby Road residence in October 2025.
Cynthia explained that her work is different from her time at the Helen Kaplan Center, as the smaller group of people living there offers her the opportunity to spend more time exploring each person’s unique interests and preferences.
“I like my job,” said Cynthia. “I like everything I do. I like taking care of people.”
Cynthia added that she enjoys working with the Rugby Road team, and everything she’s learning along the way.
“In this field I learn a lot about kindness, because we are all human beings,” said Cynthia. “I like what I’m doing.”
