ComeUnity Sports practices and competitions are supported by our community partners, agency Volunteers, Employees and Coaches.  All share in the goal of providing excellent opportunities in adult sports, exercise and competition.

NEW! – Bocce – The STARZ Bocce team practices at Hicksville Fire Station #3 on West John and Strong Streets in Hicksville, NY. The Bocce team have 8 weeks of practice and 2 tournaments in the summer.

Alpine Skiing – The STARZ skiers practice on Windham Mountain and stay overnight at Citizen’s Camp Loyaltown.  Racers must have prior experience skiing downhill and share in the goal of racing against opponents on the NASTAR slalom course.  All skiers earn an award for being on the team.

Basketball – Basketball players practice at Tuesday Evening Recreation in Hempstead and at Maria Regina R.C. Church in Seaford on Sunday afternoons.  Games are scheduled throughout the season.  Players must attend practices in order to be a part of the games.  All players earn an award for their contribution to the team.

Bowling – Bowlers may use the Citizens Recreation bowling groups upon joining to prepare for the two tournaments offered each year.  Tournament bowling is league style and no bumpers are allowed.  Awards are given to the top 5 STARZ bowlers at each tournament.  All bowlers receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal.

Track and Field – Track practices give STARZ athletes the opportunity to train in running, walking, throwing and jumping events.  The Track Meet, held at the end of the season includes a typical running team and additional opponents from the local community.  All track and field athletes receive a commemorative tank top and medal for their achievements.

Softball – The STARZ softball players practice the skills of throwing, catching, batting and running as well as fielding and game play each night.  Games are scheduled throughout the season.  Players must attend practices in order to be a part of the games.  All players earn an award for their contribution to the team.
