Celebrating the Holidays Together: 2024 Holiday Round-Up

The 2024 holiday season was filled with time-honored traditions and unexpected delights.  A special thank you to the staff and families for creating these wonderful holiday memories.

Join us in looking back at just a few:

Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit to the Shoreham Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) on Dec. 14 and the Helen Kaplan Center on Dec. 23.

Men and women shared their holiday wish list, gave Mr. Claus a handshake or a hug, and took pictures so that they would always remember these festive days.

Holiday Party at The Sterling in Bethpage

Men and women who receive Residential Services dressed in their best on Dec. 11 and enjoyed a night out at The Sterling in Bethpage with a delicious catered dinner, dancing to a DJ, photo booths with props, and, of course, a visit from Mr. Claus, himself.

Annual Holiday Party at Ontario Avenue

On Saturday, December 7, the Ontario Avenue residence in Plainview was filled with festive decorations, delicious homemade food, laughter, and meaningful conversations as roommates and staff marked their fifteenth holiday party.

Every year, John Volpe, Richard Krinsky, Robert Behrendt, Randy Cosby, Patrick Black, Frank Billadello, Manager Tammy Vallancourt, and staff members invite family and friends to a holiday party.

In preparation for the party, the roommates worked together to decorate the residence with a Christmas tree covered in ornaments, a winter village, stockings in the windows inscribed with everyone’s names, and other decorations that brought holiday joy to the residence.

Exploring the Waterdrinker Winter Wonderland

Jarred Segal, Wai Chan and Christopher Piarulli, housemates at the Village Drive residence in Medford, enjoyed a fabulous day at the Waterdrinker Winter Wonderland in Manorville. Each year, the farm transforms into a holiday destination, offering both daytime and nighttime experiences for the community. They strolled through the beautifully lit tree farm and explored the charming gingerbread village. Together with staff, they sat beside cozy fire pits, enjoying s’mores and hot cocoa. The Santa sleigh and wreath photo made for a perfect keepsake to remember the day!
