The Rose Ball is at the heart of the Nassau County AHRC Foundation’s mission—bringing together families, businesses, and communities to ensure that children and adults with developmental disabilities have the opportunities and support they need to live fulfilling lives. Each year, funds raised help award grants to organizations that share our vision, including Citizens Options Unlimited.
AHRC Foundation Walk

The Walk is more than an annual tradition. It is a visible reminder of what is possible when a community shows up for one another. Funds raised through the Walk directly support education and early intervention services for children, residential and community inclusion programs for adults, healthcare access, guardianship advocacy, self-advocacy initiatives, and transition opportunities for young adults preparing for greater independence.
The Inform Me Educational Workshop Series, hosted by AHRC, provides families and people with disabilities with practical guidance and reliable information to help them navigate the IDD system, access services, and address challenges along the way. Offered throughout the year, each workshop focuses on topics that people and families are actively navigating—supporting informed decision-making and helping them feel more confident as they advocate for themselves or their family member.
